Producers Against Misogyny (PAM) was created by Lily Amiclo and Stella Smyth to address inequities caused by misogyny in music. Part of our mission is to offer opportunities in music that foreground people who often fall to the margin in this setting. In the past, we have held workshops and conversations with guests such as Weyes Blood, Mereba, Jack Antonoff, Jacob Collier, Linda Perry, Devonté Hynes, and more. Most recently, we hosted our first writing camp in partnership with APG and Kobalt Music. We bring musicians together who want to create in an environment that includes this conversation.

“We started PAM in our freshman year of college. Before we were really friends, we bonded over being in the small handful of women who came to the Clive Davis Institute with a focus on production. We were mentored by our professor, JD Samson, to disrupt the misogyny embedded in studio culture and make a space for other people who want to create in an equitable environment. Since then, we’ve set our sights on making a tangible change to the ecosystem behind popular music, which is why we’re so excited to be putting some of our favorite writers and producers in the studio together.”
